The Otsuka group has a diverse research and development programme, which aims to create world-class solutions in areas of high unmet need. In 2023 our R&D investment was €2 billion. We have a network of 34 research institutes around the world. Otsuka is willing to take the long-term view when it comes to investing in researching diseases and disorders that are difficult to treat. Our portfolio is rich and varied and our freethinking attitude means that we avoid general approaches to product development. This helps us to create the healthcare solutions of tomorrow, as we search for new opportunities in our global research areas of neuroscience, oncology, cardiovascular, renal, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, ophthalmology and dermatology. We are also exploring how digital health technology may provide holistic health solutions for patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
